Al-Dūrī ʿan Abī ʿAmr
A monumental scholar of recitation who has the distinction of transmitting canonical riwāyāt for two different Imams: Abū ʿAmr al-Baṣrī and Al-Kisā’ī. His transmission from Abū ʿAmr is historically dominant in Sudan.
Al-Sūsī ʿan Abī ʿAmr
The second primary narrator of Imam Abū ʿAmr al-Baṣrī via his student Yaḥyā al-Yazīdī. Renowned for preserving the major rule of Idghām Kabīr (assimilating two adjacent vowelled letters).
